Since 1975 Broughton Woolford has worked with gardens;
learning the odd thing or three along the way. His broad
experience in ornamental horticulture is derived from varied
positions held over the years. Broughton has worked as a
gardener and head gardener on island resorts; at a racecourse and
a retail complex and as a jobbing gardener in Toowoomba, the
"Garden City". He was awarded an Associate Diploma in Farm
Management (Hort.) after two years of fun at the then Queensland
Agricultural College, Gatton. From the years 1985 to 1994
Broughton operated as Capability Landscapes, specialising in
'soft landscape': soil, plants, mulch and irrigation for a wide
and varied domestic and commercial customer base. A
reorientation of focus saw the establishment of BW Gardens which
allows Broughton to draw upon his practical experience to provide
a valuable consultation, advice, troubleshooting and design
service for gardeners, would-be gardeners and "blackthumbs"
throughout the Brisbane area.
